What is Creator Studio?
Creator Studio is a hosted sales-and-delivery system for independent music creators. Instead of sharing loose files, YouTube links, or cloud folders, you can publish singles and music collections with a professional preview page, buyer checkout, and private post-purchase access.

Creator Studio is built to grow with active sellers. You can start without a monthly platform fee, and Sound of Chi earns when your music sells.

Create your creator account, publish music, and start sharing your showroom without paying a monthly platform fee upfront.
20% platform fee per sale
When you sell, Sound of Chi keeps 20% of the sale price for hosting, checkout, buyer delivery, and platform support. You keep the remaining 80%, minus normal payment processing fees.
Active seller credit
No monthly fee while your music is actively selling. Accounts with less than $25 in monthly sales may be charged a $5 hosting fee.
Payouts through Stripe Connect
To receive earnings from your sales, you complete a one-time Stripe Connect onboarding inside Creator Studio. Stripe Connect is Stripe’s payout system for platforms like Sound of Chi: when someone buys your music, the payment is processed through Stripe and your share is routed to your connected account on Stripe’s payout schedule.
Even if you already have your own Stripe account for another business or project, you still need to complete Stripe Connect onboarding for Creator Studio. Your existing Stripe login does not automatically link to Sound of Chi — Connect sets up the separate payout profile used for sales on our platform.
During onboarding, Stripe may ask you to verify your identity and add payout details (such as a bank account or debit card). Sound of Chi does not store your full banking information — Stripe handles that securely. You must keep your Connect account in good standing to publish and get paid.

Beta creators
Hosting fee waived during beta. Standard pricing after beta: 20% per sale, with a $25/month active seller threshold.
Example: $10 music collection sale
If you sell a 10-song music collection for $10.00, here is a simple example of how the payout could work:
- Sale price: $10.00
- Estimated Stripe processing fee: $0.64 (2.9% + $0.35 example)
- Sound of Chi platform fee: $2.00 (20%)
- Estimated creator payout: $7.36
No monthly hosting fee applies in months where your creator account generates at least $25 in gross sales. You also get hosted showrooms, private buyer delivery, downloads, and ClickMeter.io tracking support included.
Actual payment processing fees may vary by country, card type, tax, refund status, or Stripe account settings.
